Adler: We have to defend the Kurdish people

David K. Adler of the International Kurdish Solidarity Collective, reacted to the silence about the Turkish state aggression, and said that it is necessary to express the complicity of the various governments and to defend the Kurdish people.

David K. Adler, a member of the International Kurdish Solidarity Collective and General Coordinator of Progressive International, criticized the silence of the world against the Turkish state's attacks on Kurds.

The International Kurdish Solidarity Collective called on all those who support democracy and human rights to support the Kurdish people against the Turkish state's attacks of destruction and occupation, in a statement released on 10 August.

Adler, the policy director of the Movement for Democracy in Europe 2025 (DiEM25), stated that the world is becoming increasingly authoritarian and said: “Turkey's allies in NATO claim that they carry the torch of democracy in the darkness of the authoritarian world. However, they cannot defend basic principles such as tolerance, pluralism and human rights when it comes to Erdogan's attacks on Kurds and oppression of Kurdish representatives.

David K. Adler added: “Our duty is to hold our own governments accountable for their complicity in these crimes, expose their hypocrisy and defend the Kurdish people's rights to freedom and dignity.”
