Lawyer Erdal Kuzu visited his arrested client Mardin Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayor Ahmet Türk in Silivri Prison. Kuzu announced that Türk sent a message and said: “It is imperative to form a united front against fascism. We must create a strong cooperation.”

His lawyer also said that Ahmet Türk’s health was deteriorating and he refused to be examined in handcuffs. Ahmet Türk told his lawyer that being examined in handcuffs was “dishonorable”.

“THERE IS TORTURE”

Ahmet Türk sent a letter via his lawyer Oya Öznur on the condition of his health. Türk’s letter is as follows:

“My pacemaker measurements were made. Blood and urine samples were given. The results of these haven’t been given to me. They say they will prepare a report. I had an eye examination. The doctor told me I needed surgery for cataracts. I have trouble reading. Both my eyes are watery constantly. But more than these, the unlawfulness we are experiencing bothers me.

There is unlawful imprisonment. And on top, there is torture. Isolation is torture. I stay with one other person due to my health. But the others are held in isolation, alone. What we are experiencing isn’t just about the referendum. They want to pave the way to dictatorship by intimidating revolutionaries, democrats, Kurds and the dissidents. The peoples of Turkey will question this tyranny one day in the future. It is imperative to form a united front against fascism. We must create a stronger cooperation.”
