The "urgent aid campaign for the people of Rojava" has been going on in a number of European countries since 1 February 2013. The campaign which was launched by Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê is supported by Kurdish people, institutions and establishments across Europe, mainly in Germany, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark, Holland, Austria, Belgium and England.
Speaking to ANF about the aid campaign, Heyva Sor a Kurdistanê President Fahrettin Gülşen said that with the campaign they have provided € 400 thousand for the people of Rojava so far.
Gülşen said that they were running the campaign transparently and told the followings; "The aids collected in the campaign are gathered in our central office in Germany before they are sent to Rojava. We are making a cooperation with the Kurdish High Council and Heyva Sor a Kurd in Rojava which are keeping us weekly informed about the aids after the delivery. We share the documents we receive after the delivery with relevant German authorities and the tax office".
Gülşen called on all Kurdish people living in Europe to mobilize for solidarity with the people of Rojava who -he underlined- are facing severe conditions in the winter season.
Gülşen noted that except for money they have also collected a truckload of medical equipments which -he said- will also be sent to Rojava for a hospital that had previously been damaged and plundered by armed gangs. Gülşen added that the hospital, out of service now, will be opened again and provide service after the delivery of these equipments.
Gülşen added that they are also planning to send medical equipments to a new hospital currently being built in the city of Efrin.
