It is stated that the AKP Erciş Provincial Organization collected the personal information of the people from the Erciş Population Directorate. The citizens reacted harshly to the AKP which had sent messages to thousands of people announcing them that they were members.

Haydar Tenik, who has been working in the Kurdish political movement for 11 years in Ercis, said that he worked for years in the BDP, DBP and HDP. He said that he was a candidate for HDP Erciş Municipality Council in the 31 March local elections.

“Our personal information was taken without our knowledge and we were registered with the AKP and fake signatures were made without our consent. The AKP’s work is totally illegal. We will start all necessary legal procedures about the matter as soon as possible and will file a criminal complaint against the AKP executives."

HDP Erciş District co-chair, Yaşar Kucaş, said that this latest move by the AKP showed how helpless the party is. Kucaş said: "The AKP is not even ashamed of committing fraud in such open way. They have exceeded themselves with these frauds. The people of Erciş are very angry because of this fraud. We are with our people as HDP.”
