AKP’s demand to cancel Istanbul vote rejected

The Provincial Board of Elections rejected the appeal made on the grounds of “false voter registrations”.

It has been 5 days since the local elections, but the AKP still hasn’t accepted defeat. When they failed to achieve the outcome they wished for in their appeals, the AKP then appealed to have the election cancelled in Istanbul, but their demand was rejected.

According to pro-AKP network Haberturk, AKP Buyukcekmece District Presidency appealed to the Provincial Board of Elections to have the election cancelled in Istanbul, on grounds of “unlawful voter registration” in the Buyukcekmece district.

CHP Aydin MP Bulent Tezcan spoke to T24 and said, “They weren’t able to steal enough votes, now they are trying to steal an election.”

Shortly after the appeal, the Provincial Board of Elections rejected the appeal made on the grounds of “false voter registrations”.
