Another 28 ISIS members killed in Raqqa

SDF fighters continue their advance in Raqqa from four fronts. ISIS took another toll of 28 killed gang members and 2 destroyed bomb-laden vehicles.

YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters managed to advance further in Raqqa city from the southern and northern fronts in these last hours.

In an attempt to take back the liberated positions from the SDF fighters, ISIS gangs launched attacks with two groups backed up by 2 bomb-laden vehicles in Rawda neighbourhood south of the city.

Upon the instant response of the SDF fighters, both of the bomb-laden vehicles were destroyed before they could reach their goal, while 9 of those gang members were killed in the clashes. Their ammunition and arms could be confiscated afterwards by the fighters.

In intense clashes which continued in Nahda neighbourhood north of the city and in the region of Mesakin Idixar, another 10 gang members have been killed and many strategical positions have been liberated.

As a result of clashes which unfolded also in Hisham bin Abdulmalik neighbourhood since daybreak, three areas have been cleansed of ISIS, and 8 gang members were killed.

Clashes still continue unabated in many locations throughout the city.
