Another 90 civilians rescued in Raqqa operation

Another 90 civilians have been rescued by SDF fighters who engage in heavy clashes with ISIS in Raqqa city center.

YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters continue their advance against ISIS in central Raqqa neighbourhoods. Since last night, the heavy clashes are taking place between the SDF and ISIS in Nahda and al-Barid neighbourhoods. While the fighters make continuous advances, they have rescued and evacuated another 90 civilians, mostly women and children.

The SDF fighters also discovered and confiscated a great deal of weapons and ammunition belonging to the gangs, such as DShK, mortar grenades and Kalashnikovs.

Several mines planted by the gangs in these neighbourhoods have been swept and defused. Two SDF fighters got wounded during the clashes.
