Another event of the AKP cancelled in Switzerland

The cantons of Switzerland are not allowing Turkey's AKP and MHP parties to spread their racist propaganda in their lands.

Following a denial of permission for racist Turkish events in the cantons of Zurich and Aurgau, the Canton of Basel has today cancelled a racist event organised by the pro-AKP Federation of Turkish Islamic Cultural Associations in Basel for tomorrow.

The so-called cultural event with the motto “Çanakkale Is Impassible” at the Hazal wedding hall in Basel was meant to spread propaganda for the referendum on April 16 with the participation of AKP and MHP officials and racist artists Mustafa Yıldızdoğan and Nejla Çakmakçı.

Acting upon the organisation and announcement of the event, Basel Lanschat police announced today that they have cancelled the event due to public order security.

Anti-fascist groups and local residents in Basel had taken action for the cancellation of the event organised in support of Erdoğan, and announced that they would never allow such a racist activity in the event that it was not obstructed by the police.
