Twenty nine village guards in Þýrnak’s Beytüþþebap district, 20 in two villages of Uludere and four in a village of Siirt’s Pervari district have laid down their arms in the last one week.
The 29 village guards in Þýrnak’s Beytüþþebap’s district have given their resignation letters in which they refused to take part in the ongoing operations where clashes between the Turkish military and People’s Defense Forces (HPG) guerrillas continue since 2 September.
Twenty other temporary village guards, including chiefs, have also submitted their resignation in the villages of Andaç (Elemun) and Aroþ in Uludere district of Þýrnak in the last one week. Apart from these, three others from surrounding villages have also given their resignation letters which were however rejected by Brigade Command in the village of Gülyazý (Becüh).
Four temporary village guards have also resigned from their duty in recent days in the village of Belenoluk (Heþet) in Siirt’s pervari district.
