Three people were taken into custody on Monday morning in Karlýova (district of Bingöl) where eight policemen were killed and nine others were wounded on Sunday as a result of an explosion.

The explosion early on Sunday morning occurred as a police service bus passed by near the village of Hacýlar on Bingöl-Erzurum way. It is understood a mine was detonated by remote control as police vehicles were passing through the area.

Three people in the district were taken into custody today for allegedly assisting the perpetrators of the attack on police forces. Detainees were taken to Karlýova Gendarmerie Command while the military has on the other hand launched an operation in the area.
