Solidarity with the Victims of All Genocides released a written statement to denounce an attack on a member of the organization who suffered an assault inside the Turkish Embassy in London by a member of staff on 18 January. The organization said that their member was assaulted whilst he was delivering the Ambassador of Turkey, the Turkish Embassy, Knightsbridge, a letter in solidarity with justice demands for the murdered Armenian journalist Hrant Dink on the sixth anniversary of his death on 18 January.
The staff at the Embassy refused to accept the letter, and one member of staff assaulted Mr E. Williams who was presenting the letter. Mr Williams' clothes were ripped but a policeman intervened to stop further trouble. Mr Williams was then ejected from the Embassy, said the organization and pointed out that for the past six years, the investigation of behind the scenes actors who encouraged, planned and provided logistics for Dink's murder has yielded no results, despite the government's promises. On the contrary -it underlined- all government officials who caused Hrant's death have been promoted, backed up. This means collaboration with murderers, it said and remarked For this, we need to raise our voices, show our determination and solidify our willingness to seek justice. We are here, Ahparig .
In the letter, Solidarity with the Victims of All Genocides also called attention to Turkish state's actions targeting Kurdish politicians, human rights activists, academics, investigative journalists, perceived 'leftists', lawyers, publishers, 'pro-Kurdish' parties and Kurdish and othered communities and underlined; Those who seek to destabilise all peace initiatives relating to the Kurdish conflict have assassinated 3 Kurdish women politicians - Sakine Cansiz, Fidan Doðan and Leyla Saylemez - in Paris, just ten days ago.
The organization noted that in Diyarbakir, as in other parts of Turkey, the Saturday Mothers have continued to repeat their demand for "justice" for enforced disappearances and unsolved murders. Mothers carry the placard: "The perpetrators are evident, where are the murderers?" as well as photographs of loved ones. The perpetrators of the Roboski massacre remain at large, it added.
