Political genocide operations were carried out on Monday in many cities including Şırnak, Ağrı, Amed, Urfa, Van, Mardin, Siirt, Hakkari, Mersin and Elazığ. At least 80 people were detained in the operations.
ŞIRNAK
12 people including HDP administrator Agit Yiğit, Şırnak former provincial council member Nezir Ayan were taken into custody during house raids in the city center of Şırnak and the districts of Cizre, İdil and Uludere.
While 12 people detained are being held at police headquarters, it is reported that the number of detainees in the city could increase.
MARDİN
It is reported that 8 people have been so far detained in house raids in the Artuklu, Kızıltepe and Nusaybin districts of Mardin. There is reportedly an arrest warrant for 10 people in Nusaybin.
In the political genocide operations carried out in Kızıltepe district, 65-year-old Peace Mother Ferhan Akbulut was also detained. Those detained were taken to the Mardin Police Department. While Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a 24-hour restriction order on the file, the family and lawyers were not informed about the investigation.
MERSİN
Özgür Kutlu and Nebi Yıldız were detained in the operations carried out today in Gündoğdu neighborhood of the Akdeniz district of Mersin. It is reported that Kutlu and Nebi are held in Mersin Provincial Police Department.
Meanwhile, 8 people have been detained in house raids in the city since 13 February.
AMED
5 people were detained in the operations in Silvan district of Amed (Diyarbakır). It is reported that those detained were taken to the Silvan District Police Department.
