Australian senator tabled a motion to parliament for Güven

Motion tabled at Australian Parliament on day 100 of Leyla Güven's hunger strike.

Australian senator Richard Di Natale tabled a motion to the Australian parliament about the hunger strike carried out by HDP Hakkari MP Leyla Güven and other activists to demand the end of isolation against Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Richard Di Natale, leader of the Australian Green Party, recalled in his motion that deputy Leyla Güven has reached day 100 of her hunger strike and is in a critical position.

More than 300 activists on hunger strike, said Di Natale, are actually not receiving enough water and vitamins.

In his motion, Di Natale called on the Australian government to take steps to promote dialogue between activists and Turkish officials.

The motion will be discussed in parliament at the beginning of April.
