Austria bans Turkish minister

Austria has issued a ban against Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi attending an event on the country’s soil.

European governments continue taking new precautions against the AKP campaigning in their countries.

Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi was to attend an event for the anniversary of July 15 in Austria, but has since been banned.

A spokesperson from the Austrian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the matter and said: “I can confirm that Austria’s Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz is not permitting Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekçi into the country.”
