Speaking on a TV program on SKY TV, author Vedat Türkali said that Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan arose hopes for this year's Newroz celebrations. Türkali remarked that Öcalan was also the most prominent wise man to be consulted for a solution to the Kurdish question.

"I am sending my loves and greetings to leader Apo in the hope that we can take steps together in better and beautiful days for Turkey", Türkali said.

Referring to the debate on the formation of a committee of wise men in the process of talks for a solution to the Kurdish question, Türkali said that; "The Prime Minister says that such a committee should be established. However, he is not aware that he is already talking to wise men, Öcalan being the most prominent of these.

Türkali added that he wouldn't accept to take place in such a committee.
