Aydar: AKP and MHP circles discuss getting rid of Öcalan

KCK Council Member Zübeyir Aydar spoke in the ongoing 13th Kurdish Conference in the EP on the situation of the Abdullah Öcalan, and said: “According to information we’ve received, there are discussions to get rid of Öcalan.”

Koma Civakên Kurdistan (Kurdistan Communities Union, KCK) Executive Council Member Zübeyir Aydar spoke yesterday in the ongoing Kurdish Conference in the European Parliament (EP) in Brussels, Belgium and pointed out Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s situation. Aydar said: “According to information we’ve received, AKP-MHP circles are discussing getting rid of Öcalan. The EU and the international institutions should be more sensitive to this.”

Aydar spoke of the history of Kurds in his presentation and pointed out their place in the Middle East today. Aydar also mentioned the peace process between PKK and Turkey and said: “The chief negotiator of these talks was Mr. Abdullah Öcalan. But since April 5, 2015, the relationship with Mr. Öcalan has also been severed. He has been held under strict isolation since that date. Mr. Öcalan has been striving for a peaceful solution for years. Him being kept under these conditions means insolubility and conflict.”

“EUROPE SHOULD ACT AGAINST AKP’S ANNIHILATION POLICIES”

“Now here I want to share with you a very important piece of information we received recently,” said Aydar and continued: “There are discussions on getting rid of Kurdish People’s Leader Mr. Abdullah Öcalan in the AKP and MHP circles. Those who discuss this even ask how the outcome would be from various positions. The reemergence of death penalty discussions are seen as an attempt to shape the society towards issuing that decree. We don’t know how much of this is true. But we receive information that these are developed to get rid of Mr. Öcalan. I don’t even want to think on the indignance and chaos such a situation will create. Therefore, the Kurdish people and all interested parties, the EU, the international institutions and the public should show great awareness on this issue and prevent this dangerous situation. As I end my words, I would like to point out once more the threat and danger towards Mr. Öcalan and repeat my call that the conference should have a stance on this issue.”

“THEY WANT TO SHOOT US”

Aydar said that Turkey was targeting Kurds, and continued his warning: “HDP co-chairs, MPs and mayors have been arrested, thousands of people have been displaced. Turkey doesn’t think this is enough. They are looking for something similar to the assassination of the 3 Kurdish women politicians they murdered in Paris on January 9, 2013. We receive information from various channels. According to them, Turkey has sent assassination units to several European countries including Belgium to murder several Kurdish politicians, including myself.”
