Five people who were taken into custody as result of house raids in a number of neighborhoods in the main Kurdish city Amed were referred from Diyarbakır anti-terror branch office to the Diyarbakır Courthouse late Friday.
Three among the detainees were released while two others, including Kurdish daily Azadiya Welat worker Ahmet Bolkan, were referred a vacation court, demanded to be remanded in custody.
The court ordered the arrest of two detainees for allegedly being members of the YDG-H (Movement of Patriotic and Democratic Youth) and participating demonstrations on behalf of the youth movement.
Information messages sent to Bolkan by the Mevlana Halit Neighborhood Association of Equal and Free Citizens, which is executed by him, and by the KURDİ-DER, to which he is affiliated as a member and teacher, were put forward as criminal evidence for his arrest.
Bolkan's distribution of 10 papers to a subscriber was on the other hand written down in police records as a "conveyance of the organisation's instructions to the people".
