Banner drop in Solothurn against Turkish war in Kurdistan

With a banner drop from the Wengi Bridge in Solothurn, the Swiss-wide organisation of the #RiseUp4Rojava campaign sent a message against the ongoing war of the Turkish state in Kurdistan.

The Switzerland-wide organisation of the #RiseUp4Rojava campaign drew attention to the ongoing war of the Turkish state in Kurdistan with a banner dropped in Solothurn. The banner with the inscription "Stop Turkish offensive in Kurdistan" was rolled out at the Wengi Bridge. A few hundred metres away, this year's Solothurn Cheese Day had taken place days before.

Not only the fascist Turkish state has blood on its hands in the war in Kurdistan, the trail of blood" also extends to Switzerland, said #RiseUp4Rojava: "Tacitly profiting from war and crises seems to be a cultivated Swiss tradition. For revolutionary people in Solothurn, it is not only the cheese that stinks to high heaven. The stench of the prevailing conditions is also becoming more and more unbearable. It is time to build a counter-power so that people become aware that another society is possible. A society beyond capitalist exploitation, beyond the nation state and its constructed borders, beyond patriarchal oppression and constraints."

With the banner-drop at the Wengi Bridge, the campaign explicitly greets its "friends and comrades in Rojava", Western Kurdistan, and calls for a "common struggle for a good life for all".
