Many workplaces, streets, schools are deserted this morning as thousands have joined the general strike in Euskal Herria. 

They are demanding a Charter of Social Rights in defense of pensions, employment and social rights.

Demonstrations are to be held throughout the day in Bilbao as well as in many cities of the Basque Country. 

Information piquets are being held in various cities in front of factories and shops and three activists have been detained.
