BDP Baluken denies allegations on withdrawal
Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) group deputy chair İdris Baluken has released a statement on Monday, denying the allegations that he said the withdrawal of Kurdish armed forces would take place in several days.
Baluken said his comments on the process of disarmament and democratic steps to be taken afterwards have been misinterpreted.
Baluken added that, “I said Mr. Öcalan would make a statement in several days and, that the message he would give had increased public expectations for the silence of arms. I remarked that the government should take democratic steps after his message. I suggested the removal of the village-guard system and silence of arms in all areas of life”.
Baluken said his statement voiced their expectations for the advancement of the process positively.
