Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) district executive and Mardin Provincial Council Member Emanet Eneþ was severely injured in Mardin’s Mazýdaðý district on Sunday when a tear gas hit him on the head during the police attack on the march in solidarity with the PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) and PAJK Kurdistan Women’s Liberation Party (PAJK) prisoners on hunger strike.
The march by hundreds of people in the district of Mazýdaðý was denied permission by police forces who attacked the mass following a sit-in act at Cumhuriyet Square. Police used real bullets in the attack.
Following first response at Mazýdaðý State Hospital, Eneþ was immediately taken to Mardin State Hospital where he was rushed into surgery. His condition is reported to be still critical.
