A delegation of the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) has met with Kosret Resul, First Secretary of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) General Secretary and Vice President of Federal Kurdistan Region, and a delegation accompanying him in Ankara on Friday. Following the meeting, which was attended by BDP co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, Democratic Society Congress (DTK) co-chairs Aysel Tuğluk and Ahmet Türk, BDP Group Deputy Chair Pervin Buldan and BDP Muş MP Sırrı Sakık on BDP's side,  Demirtaş and Resul made a statement which put emphasis on solidarity between Turkey and the South Kurdistan government.

Resul said that they paid the visit to BDP to display solidarity with the ongoing process of Imralı talks.

Demirtaş remarked that he believed the social and cultural exchange between Turkey and South Kurdistan will also make a contribution to the solution of the Kurdish problem in Turkey.

Answering journalists' questions after the statements, Demirtaş, asked about the new delegation to go to Imralı, said the followings; “We have unofficially shared the names of our delegation with the Ministry of Justice and we will make our official application in several days, on Monday at the latest. I hope the second visit to Imralı will take place in several days.

Demirtaş noted that Ahmet Türk, Pervin Buldan and he himself have been named for the delegation to pay the second visit, adding; “The crisis of the last one and a half month is not a name crisis. Our delegation has been denied permission to go to the island within this time because of a deadlock in the ongoing talks on Imralı. The delegation of the state had to pay several other visits to the island in this period to pave the way for progress in talks”.

Asked about the news on allegedly ongoing meetings of MIT (National Intelligence Organization of Turkey) Undersecretary Hakan Fidan and Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan, Demirtaş said that; “We just heard that a delegation on behalf of the state has been paying periodic visits to the island but we have received no official information on the issue so far. The state's delegation should no doubt continue paying visits and having talks to enable a progress in the ongoing process. Besides, I think civil political delegations should also be included in talks. We have no other information available as to the details”.
