BDP women to march to Imralý

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Diyarbakýr provincial co-chair Zübeyde Zümrüt and Baðlar district organization executives held an information meeting on the 9 October conspiracy against Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Speaking at the information meeting which was attended by women alone, Zümrüt announced that BDP women will march to Imralý to demand freedom and a proper environment for PKK (Kurdistan Workers Party) leader Abdullah Öcalan at the 14th anniversary of the 9 October 1998 international conspiracy against the Kurdish leader.

Pointing out that Kurdish women will never accept and remain silent about the international conspiracy and isolation of their leader, Zümrüt noted that a delegation of BDP women will try to reach the island of Imralý and meet the PKK Leader in the scope of the protest.

Zümrüt also called for broad participation in the BDP extraordinary congress 14 October and the Women’s Congress on 4 November in Ankara.

Referring to the indefinite and non-alternate hunger strike of political prisoners in Turkish prisons, Zümrüt added that they will gather in front of Diyarbakýr E Type Closed Prison on 12 October to support the strikers in the prison.
