The budget of Diyarbakir Provincial General Assembly has not been approved by the Governorship despite massive curtailments made in the provincial budget in the first term. While the Provincial General Assembly presented the budget to the Governorship for the seventh time, the suspension of the approval has interdicted some investments of the city in road-construction, drink-water and school building projects.
Having implemented a restriction in arbitrary expenditures and objecting to the very high budget of Governorship Private Secretary, Diyarbakir Provincial General Assembly is waiting for the budget-approval of the Governorship for seven months.
The budget, which is approved by AKP members as well, was for the seventh time referred to Governor Mustafa Toprak for approval. While the Governorship has still not replied the budget-plan for seven months, it has been learned that all the planned and approved investments of the Assembly for 2011 have been suspended in the city and all districts and villages.
