Buldan: Kandil meeting positive

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) group deputy chair Pervin Buldan has made a statement on behalf of the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) and HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) delegation that met with KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) executives in Kandil following the most recent meeting with Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan last week.

Noting that the meeting in Kandil was positive, Buldan remarked that KCK executives said they stood behind the Newroz declaration on “resolution and peace process” Öcalan announced on 21 March, Newroz Day.

Buldan said KCK executives brought forward the steps the government should take for the advancement of the process without any problem, and stressed that the government should prepare a legal ground to enable the Kurdish leader to play his role during negotiations.

Noting that the BDP had earlier sent their notes on meetings with Öcalan to KCK executives as well, Buldan added that; “They already knew about Mr. Öcalan's thoughts. They didn't give us a letter t convey to Mr. Öcalan but they wanted us to convey their thoughts to him verbally”.
