Buldan: Kurds will not accept a peace process without Öcalan

Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) parliamentry group deputy chair and Iğdır deputy Pervin Buldan spoke at a public meeting organized by BDP Iğdır organization to handle the course of the democratic resolution process and the approaching local elections to take place in March 2014.

Speaking here, Pervin Buldan called attention to the importance of the democratic resolution process PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) leader Abdullah Öcalan initiated, and remarked that the rate of the votes and the municipalities BDP will take in the elections will a kind of manifest the support for the process.

Reminding the fact that the Kurdish people supported the resolution process, Buldan said some forces however intended to be prevent and disrupt this process in search of a peaceful and democratic solution to the Kurdish question.

Referring to the Diyarbakır visit of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Massoud Barzani and Turkish Prime Minister last weekend, Buldan stressed that it was a great deficiency and an attitude not accepted by the Kurdish people that none of the leaders made mention of the Kurdish leader and his role in the process. “As the Kurdish people, we declare once again that we will never accept a peace process that doesn't involve Kurdish people's leader Mr. Öcalan”, Buldan said and added that the ending of the bloodshed in the country required to recognize Öcalan's role and mission in this process.

Iğdır deputy Buldan noted that it was women who would make a major contribution to this process as those who have paid the greatest prices and suffered the greatest pains in the war process. Buldan called on all women in Iğdır to join the rally BDP will stage on November 25, the International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women.
