Speaking at the 8 Marchevent organized in Bitlis (district of Tatvan), Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Iğdır deputy Pervin Buldan called on Kurdish women to support the ongoing process of talks with jailed Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Buldan pointed out that all circles should take a determined stance in response to those who intend to disrupt the process which could lead to a solution of the Kurdish problem.
Remarking that the Kurdish people should stand by Öcalan in the current historic process, Buldan said that; “Mr. Öcalan is laying the foundations for a just and lasting peace, knowing that Kurds will be supporting him till the very end. The Kurdish people cannot be deceived, nor can their hopes be destroyed while Mr. Öcalan is at the negotiations table. As we did in the past, we should now also announce that we stand by Öcalan who has been working for peace in Imralı prison for the last 14 years. We believe - she added - that the 21st century will witness peace and the liberation of Mr. Öcalan”.
Buldan also said that "It is not the duty of the BDP and Kurds alone to support this process" and called on the MHP (Nationalist Movement Party), CHP (Republican People's Party) and all people living in Turkey to take responsibility to end the bloodshed in the country.
“Young people, either soldiers or guerrillas, will continue to die unless the war comes to an end”, said Buldan and added that “Those intending to sabotage the current process, including those who killed three Kurdish women in Paris, will go down in history as a black mark”.
