Buldan: We are waiting for Öcalan's letter to convey to Kandil
Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) parliamentary group deputy chair Pervin Buldan spoke to DIHA (Dicle News Agency) about the meetings the BDP and HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party) delegation had with KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) executives in Kandil following the most recent meeting with Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan last week.
Referring to the meeting with the Kurdish leader on 9 November, Buldan said the meeting mainly handled the recent developments in four parts of Kurdistan in Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey. She noted that Öcalan also voiced his opinions about the approaching elections, the determination of candidates and proposals to the recently formed HDP.
“Mr. Öcalan told us during the meeting that he would write a letter to Kandil and that we should convey it to KCK executives in after receiving it several days. We have however not received this letter yet. The officials we talked to told us that the letter hasn't been sent from the island yet”, Buldan underlined and added that the BDP and HDP delegation went to Kandil without the letter.
Buldan noted that the Kandil meeting also discussed major issues and witnessed the evaluation of the democratic resolution process. She reminded that KCK executives said they stood behind the Newroz declaration on “resolution and peace process” Öcalan announced on 21 March, Newroz Day, and brought forward the steps the government should take for the advancement of the process without any problem.
Buldan added that they would convey Öcalan's letter, which -she said- they think will be about the course of the peace process, to Kandil should they get it this week.
