Long marches for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and a political solution to the Kurdish question are taking place in France, Switzerland and Germany.
The Revolutionary Youth Movement (TCŞ) and the Movement of Young Women Militants (TekoJIN) are organising a multi-day "Journey to Freedom" in Germany in February. The demonstration for the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and a political solution to the Kurdish question will begin in Mannheim on 9 February and end in Strasbourg on 16 February.
An internationalist march through Switzerland and a 25-day march in France will be taking place alongside the youth demonstration. Youth activist Şervan Wan is taking part in the long march that started in Paris on 22 January and will end in Strasbourg on 15 February, the anniversary of Abdullah Öcalan's deportation to Turkey 25 years ago.
At the start of the action in Paris, Şervan Wan called for participation in the youth march in Mannheim. A conference is to be held in Strasbourg at the end of the long marches. There will also be a Europe-wide demonstration in Cologne on 17 February under the motto "An end to 25 years of isolation, torture and lawlessness!"
