Campaign for Leyla Guven: Over 10.000 signatures

More than 10.000 people have participated in the petition launched for Leyla Guven.

Participation continues to the petition launched on Change.org for Leyla Guven, who is currently on day 90 of her hunger strike. There are currently over 10.500 signatures. Support for the campaign continues to grow with women's rights activists, journalists, writers, academics, MPs, feminists, NGOs and democratic mass organizations, human rights defenders and the international public.

“THE ISOLATION IS AN ESCALATION OF FASCISM”

The petition points out that almost 300 other prisoners are also on hunger strikes and says: “This isolation is also the beginning of the escalation of the fascism by AKP government. The proclamation of the State of Emergency, prohibition of the freedom of expression and the right to association and even serious attacks against the right to life have become widespread and ordinary in this process. The isolation which has been maintained in violation of national and international law, is an attack on the people of Turkey and their desire to live together in peace. It is an obstacle to a democratic solution to the Kurdish Question in Turkey.”
