Cards were sent to Imralı Prison from the Valais canton of Switzerland within the scope of the "100 Thousand Cards" campaign launched for Abdullah Öcalan.
The "100 Thousand Cards" campaign was launched in Sion, the capital of Switzerland's Valais canton. The cards are to be sent to Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Speaking at the breakfast event organized by Valais Kurdish Cultural Center, Ruşen Tutku gave information about the absolute isolation imposed on Abdullah Öcalan and the campaign.
Tutku said that Abdullah Öcalan has continued his resistance for 25 years, and added: "Today, our Leader is fighting under severe isolation conditions in a solitary cell in Imralı Prison, resisting the genocidal system. To break the isolation and to achieve the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan, we are calling on Europe.”
Talking about the campaign, Tutku said that “it has been launched by personalities in 74 countries of the world."
After the speech, many cards were sent to Imralı Prison. The “100 Thousand Cards” campaign will continue in many cities in Switzerland this week.
