The Democratic Kurdish Council of France (CDK-F) issued a written statement about the "Twin Family" campaign, launched to support Kurdish families affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
In this statement the CDK-F said that Kurdistan people living in Europe have important responsibilities and that the people in Kurdistan have difficulties in taking the necessary precautions against the outbreak because of financial problems.
The statement emphasized that the Covid-19 pandemic affects the whole world and causes thousands of deaths every day. "The Kurdish people are also heavily affected by this pandemic both in Europe and Kurdistan. The situation is particularly serious in North Kurdistan, Rojava, Shengal, where the war has been going on for years. Also in Maxmur the situation is worrying due to the embargo imposed on the refugees for nine months."
The statement confirmed that CDK France has "joined the 'Twin Campaign' launched by Heyva Sor in Europe," and added that the campaign will be carried out by "the 17 community centers, women's councils and belief institutions throughout France."
The statement added that "about 600 families have been reached in 5 days and will soon work with the spirit of mobilization to increase the number."
The CDK-F statement continued: "This campaign is not an ordinary financial aid campaign. This campaign is also a campaign to fulfill our patriotism and to protect our people. No Kurd should live comfortably in his home while his brother face death in Kurdistan. We call on our people living in France and friends of our people to join this campaign."
