German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer will meet with her Turkish colleague Hulusi Akar. Officially, the meeting is to be about reconciliation in the conflict over gas deposits in the Mediterranean. "In this context, it is crystal clear what this conversation will mainly be about: when, where and how the next attack on the autonomous administration in northern and eastern Syria and in Shengal by the Turkish military will take place," the Kurdish Women's Office for Peace - Ceni said about the meeting, which will take place today in Berlin. Their statement goes on to say:
“The conversation between the two ministries of defense joins a disgusting appeasement policy of the European states towards Turkey and is part of a series of diplomatic talks of Turkish government representatives in preparation for the war of aggression.
We as women, who are directly affected by the feminicidal, genocidal and warmongering policies of the AKP-MHP coalition in Turkey, can no longer tolerate the hypocritical approach of this government! But we can also no longer tolerate the tacit acquiescence of this policy by civil society organizations! With our campaign "100 reasons to prosecute Erdogan and the AKP/MHP government for their feminicidal policies!" we are currently drawing attention to the impact that war, displacement and policies that are contemptuous of women have on the lives of women and children. These wars are decided and planned in exactly the kind of talks that are to take place in Berlin on Tuesday. We ask the public in Germany: Do you really not care that this federal government is making itself an accomplice to genocide? In the further expulsion of hundreds of thousands of people? In the murder, deportation and rape of thousands of women? Can you really tolerate that the federal government cooperates with Islamist militias and puts millions of your tax money into their financing?
If this Federal Government, in particular in person of Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer, Heiko Maas and Angela Merkel really allows Turkey to unleash another war of aggression contrary to international law, they will make themselves accomplices with their dirty, inhuman and deceitful deals! We will closely follow the statements Akar makes upon his return to Turkey and, in addition, we will also take on the task of the seemingly objective democratic German media, which are obviously incapable of getting information beyond AKP propaganda. We will inform the public about how the situation is developing and we will explicitly call on all civil society organizations to act. Who is silent agrees! We say no to the German-Turkish brotherhood of arms and call on all democratic forces to take a decisive stance and stop this next attack before it is too late!"
