CENTCOM: Senior ISIS leader responsible for planning attacks across Europe killed

The United States Central Command said that a senior ISIS leader responsible for planning attacks across Europe was killed in an airstrike carried out on Monday in Syria.

On Tuesday morning, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a written statement that it had carried out what it termed as a "unilateral strike," killing Khalid 'Aydd Ahmad al-Jabouri.

Al-Jabouri was not only responsible for planning attacks carried out in Europe by ISIS, but had also developed the leadership structure for the terrorist group, said the statement.

US Central Command's Michael Kurilla said in the statement that "ISIS continues to represent a threat to the region and beyond. Though degraded, the group remains able to conduct operations within the region with a desire to strike beyond the Middle East."
