Masses are participating in a central demonstration in Düsseldorf, Germany to protest the latest Turkish offensive in South Kurdistan and KDP’s cooperation with the Turkish forces.
Thousands of people are joining the march under the motto “Defend Kurdistan” in protest at the invasion operation launched by the Turkish state on April 17 in guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), and the cooperation of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region’s ruling party KDP against the guerrilla forces.
The march began following speeches by KON-MED co-chair Zübeyde Zümrüt, South Kurdistan journalist Feridun Kuncirinî, KCDK-E co-chair Yüksel Koç, İbrahim Alipur of PJAK, Emir Kirmaşan of Yaresan Platform, Jules el-Khatib of Die Linke NRW, Çiçek Yıldız of the Coordination of Yazidi Community in Europe and Iranian human rights activist İlahe Sadr.
The speakers highlighted that, “The occupying Turkish state seeks to annihilate all the achievements of the Kurdish people. The freedom guerrillas do not belong to a single part of Kurdistan alone. They defend Bakur, Bashur, Rojava and Rojhilat altogether. They defend human dignity. It is a human and moral duty to embrace the guerrilla struggle while the KDP and the Turkish state join hands and attack the Kurdish people. No Kurd, nor history, will ever forget this betrayal. We march with the philosophy of Leader Öcalan. Kurdistan will be a graveyard for invaders and traitors. It is time to stop invasion and betrayal. We call on the people of Kurdistan to pour into the streets and embrace the guerrilla resistance.”
The march will be concluded with a rally in front of the NRW State Parliament.
