Children and women evacuated from 100 villages in Kobanê

All children and women in 100 villages in three regions of Kobanê have been evacuated to the Kobanê centre in order for the protection of civilians from the attacks and artillery shootings of inhuman gangs now calling themselves the Islamic State.

Fierce clashes are continuing in east, west and south parts of the Kobanê Canton in West Kurdistan since ISIS gangs launched a new wave of attacks on 15 September.

Intense clashes are taking place in the region of Qeremox, Celebiyê, Xerbesan and Lehê villages that ISIS gangs are targeting with heavy weaponry besides mortar shells and tanks.

Sources close to YPG report that clashes have intensified in the village of Piling in the west, and that all women and children in a total of 100 villages, which all have turned to a battlefield, have safely been evacuated to the Kobanê centre due to heavy clashes.

While the fight between YPG forces and ISIS gangs are becoming severer every day since 15 September, YPG Press Centre said in a written statement on Friday that 68 gang members have been killed and 8 fighters of the YPG have lost their lives in the last two days.

Local sources have in the meantime reported that an ISIS chief of intelligence, responsible for the Kobanê and Fırat region, was killed in clashes and taken to the Raqqa city the night before.
