Mayor of Dersim's Nazimiye district, CHP (Republican People's Party) member Cafer Kırmızıçiçek has announced his resignation and support for the HDP (Peoples' Democratic Party).
Kırmızıçiçek, mayor of Nazimiye, the hometown of CHP Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, for two terms, stated yesterday evening that he has resigned from his party and will support the HDP in the upcoming elections.
Kırmızıçiçek remarked that; "I have decided to resign from the CHP in order for a rapid change in the political balances in Turkey and for the HDP to pass the election threshold in the coming period. I will remain independent but be involved in political works for the HDP."
Kırmızıçiçek added that he has lived a critical political disagreement with the CHP provincial administration for some time.
