In protest against the KDP’S collaboration with the Turkish state, Kurdish youth activists carried out a civil disobedience action at a Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI) representative office in Bern on Tuesday morning. The activists entered the building and demanded a meeting. The KRI representatives refused to talk and called the police.
Meanwhile, the activists shouted slogans against the participation of the KDP party, dominated by the Barzanî clan, in the Turkish invasion of Kurdistan and expressed solidarity with the guerrillas. A banner was hung from a window calling the Barzanî family "traitors with blood on their hands."
The Swiss police ended the action and took the activists into custody using force. In the meantime, numerous people had gathered in front of the building in solidarity with the arrested activists. After the release of all activists, the crowd dispersed.
