Clashes between western Kurdistan's YPG (People's Defense Units) and jihadist armed groups in Girke Lege's Çelaxa region are continuing on the fourth day.
Clashes in Çelaxa broke out on 16 July when armed groups affiliated to Al Qaeda launched an attack against a patrolling car of YPJ (Women's Defense Units) of YPG.
Many members of the islamist groups were killed and wounded by YPG fighters in the four days of fierce clashes in Eli Axa, Til Elo, Girhok and Xiraba Bajar villages.
One YPG fighter, Delil Mişel from Qamişlo, lost his life in clashes near the village of Xiraba Bajar last night. Mişel will be laid to rest today together with two other YPG fighters, Murat Qamişlo and Şiyar Qamişlo, who were also killed in clashes with gang groups.
On the other hand, the gang groups attacking against YPG are said to be including some Kurdish groups affiliated to Al Parti, including Selahaddin and Mala Birhik, and the Meşel Temo group affiliated to Teyar Musteqbel.
The mentioned Kurdish groups are allegedly acting in line with the plan to seize the control of the oil rich Rimelan region within 24 hours after the meeting they are claimed to have held with the Islamic state of Iraq and Bilad al-Sham groups, which involves Al Nusra Front as well, two days before the beginning of the attacks against the Kurdish region.
