Thirteen assailants were killed and at least sixteen others were injured in clashes between paramilitary groups and YPG (People's Defence Units) forces in the West Kurdistan city of Serêkaniyê (Ras el-Ayn) on Wednesday.
The armed groups, reportedly called “Ehrar El Xwêran” and “Miþel Temo Battalion", targeted a spot of YPG forces in their first attack at around 14:00 local time. The second attack in the afternoon targeted a bakery opened by People's Assembly to provide needs of city residents.
The mentioned armed groups suffered heavy losses in clashes with YPG forces. Martyr Abid Battalion, established in Serêkaniyê in November, reported on Wednesday that at least eleven members of the armed groups were killed and many others were injured in clashes.
According to local sources, sixteen wounded members of armed groups were taken to Ceylanpýnar State Hospital in the province of Urfa after the clashes. Two of them reportedly died at the hospital, while four others were referred to hospitals in Urfa.
