Clashes broke out once again between YPG (People's Defense Units) and armed gang groups in the western Kurdistan city of Afrin on Monday.

According to reports by local sources, clashes near the village of Bênê are continuing.

Conflict erupted in the region of Afrin following the attacks by armed groups targeting the villages of Ziyaret, Aqîbê, Basilê, Mereskê, Bênê on 25 May. Clashes between these groups and YPG units in the region lasted till 14 June. More than 80 members of armed groups were killed and eleven members of YPG lost their life in weeks of severe clashes.
