After a period of suspension over pandemic measures, the Municipal Council meetings in Batman are being held now.

Co-mayor Songül Korkmaz and councilors were denied access to the building as they wanted to attend the Council meeting for the month of July.

Co-mayor Korkmaz and councilors Şükran Çelebi, Gizem Oğurlu, İlkay Alagöz, Şehriban Aydın, Ayşe Önal, Recep Yargı, Şirin Şen and HDP Batman provincial branch co-chair Ömer Kulplu were taken into custody by the police.
