A two-day conference titled 'Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Peace and Stability for the World' is being held in South Africa.

The conference titled 'Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan, Peace and Stability for the World' has entered its second day in South Africa.

The conference, which addresses the importance of Öcalan's physical freedom for the solution to the Kurdish question and world peace, started on Tuesday. Representatives of numerous groups from North Kurdistan, North-East Syria and South Africa are attending the two-day conference.

The conference is organized by the Kurdish Human Rights Working Group and the Syrian ‘Freedom for Öcalan Initiative’.

The second day of the conference kicked off with a panel titled “Women's Search for Freedom”.

During the day, panels on "Democratic Nation" and "Revolution in the Middle East and the World" will be held.

On the first day of the conference, participants emphasized that the liberation of the peoples and Muslims against the Islamic hegemonic powers in the Middle East can be achieved through the "democratic nation model".

A commemoration event is expected to be held at the end of the conference for Essa Moosa, a South African lawyer and friend of the Kurds, founder of the Kurdish Human Rights Action Group (KHRAG), who passed away on February 26, 2016.
