The Constitutional Court rejected the HDP's application demanding the postponement of the party's closure case until after the election.
The Constitutional Court (AYM) rejected the HDP's application for the closure case to be postponed until after the election. In its application made on 15 March, the HDP stated that it was not possible to make an oral defense due to the earthquakes and demanded that the case be postponed due to its effects on the elections.
HDP Deputy Chairman of the Legal Commission, Serhat Eren, stated that they will evaluate the decision taken by the Constitutional Court at the party’s Central Executive Board (MYK), and that they will announce their stance on the oral defense and the case publically.
