Court rules to continue to keep HDP's Yüksekdağ in jail

The hearing of Figen Yüksekdağ, former co-chair of the HDP and in prison, was held today. The court decided to continue to keep Yüksekdağ in prison.

The 18th hearing of the lawsuit against former HDP co-chair, Figen Yüksekdağ, was held at Ankara 16th High Criminal Court.

Yüksekdağ's lawyer, Can Tombul, attended the hearing while the former HDP president didn't in appliance with the coronavirus emergency. 

The lawyer reminded that Yüksekdağ has been detained for more than 3 years in Kocaeli prison, one of the provinces most hit by the coronavirus pandemic and demanded her release.

The prosecutor, on the contrary, asked for the detention to continue.

The court decided to continue to keep Yüksekdağ in jail and adjourned the hearing to 14 July.
