Criminal organization involved in Dink's murder

Editor of Agos magazine Hrant Dink was killed by an armed crime gang, the Supreme Court of Appeals ruled today. The new ruling overturns a previous ruling which said that no organized criminal network was involved in the murder.

The suspects will now be on trial again in the Istanbul court that gave the initial ruling.

The initial court convicted Yasin Hayal of instigating the murder and sentenced him to life in prison. Erhan Tuncel was acquitted by the court.

Dink was shot dead on Janauary 19, 2007, by Ogün Samast, a 17-year old Turkish nationalist, outside the office of his newspaper in İstanbul.
