A delegation consisting of DİK scholars, HDP’s Peoples and Faiths Commission Co-Spokespersons Emin Ay and Diba Keskin, DAD Co-Chair Kadriye Doğan, Amed Scholars Association Head Hacı Kadah visited the Pazarcik district, the epicentre of the 6 February earthquake. The delegation visited the Pazarcık Cemevi (Alevi place of worship) and the aid tent set up by the Silopi Municipality Soup Kitchen, the Health & Social Service Workers Union (SES), the Federation of Socialist Assemblies (SMF) and Dersim Municipality and received information about the aid efforts.
The delegation first visited the Silopi Municipality Soup Kitchen and received information from health professionals about the ongoing aid efforts in the area. The health professionals told them that they carried out a health screening in nearly 80 villages and informed the delegation about the problems and shortcomings experienced in the earthquake-hit area.
During the visit to the Pazarcık Cemevi, the delegation was informed about the obstruction of the AKP-MHP government’s aid efforts, the trustee appointed to the Crisis Coordination Centre established in the Hasankoca village of Pazarcık, the threats against earthquake victims and those who lost their lives as a result of the late rescue operations.
The delegation thanked the health professionals, parties and volunteers who came to the earthquake-hit area and left for Hatay province.
