DAKAP protested the lifting of the immunity of DBP co-chair Saliha Aydeniz and said "she is the will of all Kurdish women and will remain so."
The Dicle Amed Women's Platform (DAKAP) organised a demonstration to protest the approval by the Parliamentary Preparatory Commission of the lifting of the immunity of Democratic Regions Party (DBP) co-chair Saliha Aydeniz.
Tevgera Jinên Azad (TJA), activists and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Women's Assembly members, HDP deputies Pero Dündar and Dersim Dağ also attended the action. DBP Women's Council member Ayhan Akgül read the statement on behalf of the women during the protest which took place in Bayramoğlu Park.
Ayhan said that the environment in which the violence and polarizing politics of the AKP-MHP government prevail, "the results are decisions such as the stripping of the immunity of deputy Saliha Aydeniz and all our other deputies. War and isolation policies have brought the country into this obviously dangerous situation. Our deputy, Saliha Aydeniz, was targeted because she reacted to the police attack on the crowd in Istanbul, and she was exposed to lynching attempts by the pro-government media and trolls."
'The will of Amed and all Kurds’
Ayhan said that the will of the people was disregarded. "The aim of the government is to polarize society in domestic politics on the one hand, and to take away all the rights of the Kurds and break their fighting power."
