Denmark has announced that it will send troops to northern Syria to support the US military presence.

According to Danish media, the US had already asked Denmark for military assistance in northern Syria in July. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced at a press conference the upcoming deployment of Danish soldiers to northern Syria. The deployment takes place within the framework of the anti-IS coalition; it is about transport, medical support and intelligence tasks. The PM said that the ISIS is still a threat.
