Day 12 of protest against trustees in Van

"The HDP people will never bow their head, will resist to the end, will defend its will and will never accept this coup."

The protest in Van against the seizure of the metropolitan municipality and the dismissal of the HDP mayor has entered day 12.

On Thursday, day 11, HDP Iğdır deputy, Habip Eksik told the crowd: "The HDP people will never bow their head, will resist to the end, will defend its will and will never accept this coup."

HDP Provincial co-chairs, Municipal co-mayors, HDP Deputies, City Council members and people attended the press conference in front of the HDP Ipekyolu District Building.

HDP Iğdır MP Habip Eksik reminded that the protests against the trustees appointed to the metropolitan municipalities of Diyarbakır, Van and Mardin by the AKP-MHP alliance have continued uninterruptedly for 11 days in all 3 cities.

"There is a problem of democracy today. - Eksik said - To counter extortion, plundering and theft there is a people resistance in the three cities. People who elected their mayors and have seen them dismissed are on the streets to reclaim their will."

While HDP deputy Habip Eksik was speaking, there was tension between the police and HDP deputy Murat Sarısaç. In the ensuing scuffle, a policeman pushed and punched the HDP deputy and people reacted to the violence.

Eksik said that the police "do not tolerate even a press statement, because they have adopted the method of bullying themselves. They receive their powers from the paramilitary AKP."

Speaking on behalf of the Mothers of Peace during the sit-in which followed Eksik' speech, Münife Kaçak said: "This lawlessness, this injustice is unacceptable. We Mothers of Peace want to see peace for everyone, we want no more deaths."
